Fast & Furious 8: Ranking Every Character From Worst To Best
1. Deckard Shaw
Okay, so there's a little confusion over why Dom Toretto would so easily forgive him for murdering Han, but Deckard Shaw's redevelopment from outright villain (or at least villain of circumstances) to disgruntled hero for hire is Fate Of The Furious' smartest move.
It allows him to develop a ridiculously entertaining conflict with The Rock's Hobbs that sways merrily into homoeroticism via some bafflingly silly roasts, and retain a sort of cool removal from the rest of the team. He's also, obviously, the centre of the baby heist sequence, which is not only the best thing this series has done, but possibly also the best thing any action movie has ever done.
While Owen Shaw is definitely a little weaker, the idea of Deckard appearing in another mainline Fast & Furious film and then heading off for a spin-off uniting the two former SAS soldiers is glorious. I'd even take a Shaw/Hobbs buddy cop black ops film... Whatever gets more of his martial arts and snark act onto the screen is very welcome.
