Fast & Furious 9: 20 WTF Moments

7. Magnets, Magnets, Magnets!

Easily the most inspired aspect of F9's action is the decision to center so much of it around magnets.

There's the loony opening moment when Jakob drives his car off a cliff and seemingly gets scooped up by the magnetised underside of a plane, and there are two prolonged magnet-centric set-pieces later in the film.

In Edinburgh, Ramsey's "driving lesson" sees her driving Jakob's electromagnet-filled truck around the city, resulting in various cars and metal objects getting thrown through the streets.

She and Dom even capture Jakob by dragging his car through a (hopefully empty) store and towards the magnet inside their truck.

Magnets get used again extensively in the film's final set-piece, the family's cars now kitted out with the tech as they try to take down Otto and Jakob's gigantic convoy and eventually manage to flip it over.

In the immortal words of Breaking Bad's Jesse Pinkman, "Yeah, bitch! Magnets!"
