Fast & Furious 9 Review: 5 Ups & 5 Downs

2. Justice For Han (Mostly) Delivers

As the marketing revealed so long ago, Han makes a long-awaited return to the franchise in F9, having somehow survived his apparent murder at the hands of Deckard Shaw (Jason Statham) in Tokyo.

No spoilers here, but there's no denying that the explanation for Han's resurrection is intensely silly. And yet, to see such a fan favourite character back in the fold makes it all worth it.

Han's reunion with his pals is the most emotionally honest part of the entire movie, and seeing him get an upfront role in the action is tremendously satisfying.

While there's still work to be done finessing the precise logic of Han's survival and the family's hastened befriending of Deckard Shaw, #JusticeForHan has more-or-less been achieved.
