Fast & Furious 9 Review: 5 Ups & 5 Downs

3. Yes, The Franchise Finally Goes To Space

Michelle Rodriguez confirmed late last summer that F9 would indeed be going into space, and without going into too much detail, it's surely the most hilarious part of the entire movie.

Though the series doesn't detour out of the stratosphere for very long, the brief sojourn to outer-space is ridiculous enough to satisfy fans who have been half-jokingly calling for it for years now.

It honestly doesn't leave the franchise with many more places to go in its final two movies - beyond a bigger space-set action sequence involving the entire family - but it's tough to argue with the sheer wish fulfilment insanity of this fantasy finally coming to fruition.

It won't be for everyone - especially those who have lamented the series' increasing lack of "realism" - but if you love yourself some no-nonsense schlock, it should have you laughing hysterically.
