Fast & Furious Franchise: 20 Greatest Action Sequences Ranked
7. Fast Five - The Attack On The Team
This one can be split into two parts.
Firstly, there's that absolutely incredible fight between Vin Diesel and Dwayne Johnson. Everyone was no doubt looking forward to these two action legends facing off and it didn't disappoint in the slightest. This epic clash of these two titans will have everyone punching the air.
Then, after Hobbs and his team have captured Dom and co, they all get attacked by the henchmen of main villain Herman Reyes (Joaquin de Almeida). Hobbs loses most of his team and Dom's ally Vince (Matt Schulze), returning for the first time since the first film, is also killed.
It's a very intense and, for a Fast & Furious film, surprisingly sad scene that's high on stakes and really stands out among the epic spectacle of the rest of the film.
The way in which Dom doesn't hesitate to save Luke despite them being enemies is also really quite heart-warming, and their subsequent team-up feels entirely earned.
This downbeat scene was brilliantly judged, since it gives this mostly lightweight film an emotional punch and makes the triumphant ending, in which Herman Reyes is defeated, feel even more satisfying.
