Fast & Furious Franchise: 20 Greatest Action Sequences Ranked

5. Hobbs & Shaw - Chernobyl

As good as Hobbs & Shaw's action generally is, this scene, in which Luke, Deckard and Hattie escape from a nuclear power plant in Chernobyl, is Hobbs & Shaw's best action sequence without a doubt. After all, nowhere else in the film is the action this creatively bonkers.

This start with a very stressful sequence of Hobbs and Shaw being captured and tortured by Brixton - and they only just manage to escape. Then, they escape the facility with a virus extraction device and Brixton and his followers give chase; the result is one of the all-time best Fast and Furious car chases.

It's got cars and trucks smashing each other, slow-motion, explosions galore, many near-misses, a weaponized drone and perhaps best of all, that awesome barrel roll jump.

It's a delightfully unhinged and heart-pumping set-piece thanks to David Leitch's superb direction, watertight pacing and the mix of hilariously OTT stunts and palm-sweating tension that this franchise (usually) does so well. It's no exaggeration to say you'll enjoy every second and it's a contender for the best scene in the whole film.
