9. Alexander Skarsgard
Why? He's another vampire property alumnus, having made something of a name for himself as brooding vampire Eric Northman in the appropriately steamy True Blood show. Thanks to the creative heritage of the story, there is certainly something like the same appeal of a vampire romance to Fifty Shades, which is perhaps why so many fans have suggested actors who are known to have played vampires already. In both we see issues of impulsiveness and control, of animal attraction and yearning, and guarded male characters with hidden histories and agendas, and crucially we also see the lone wolf sort of figure tamed by femininity. So it's a natural progression to see those sort of actors linked by fans, as they channel the same sort of feelings towards Christian Grey as they do towards the male leads of vampire romance fiction. Somewhat ironically, Skarsgard seems to have no idea about the book, telling one questioner at Comic Con that the idea of one of his particular details appealed, but that he hadn't been offered anything:
"I haven't read the book ['Fifty Shades of Grey'] and I haven't seen a script. He's just lived the life. All I heard is he's got a chamber in his basement."
