Fifty Shades Of Grey Review: 14 Hilariously Awful Moments
8. All That Lip Biting
Another beloved trait from the source material is that Ana loves to bite her lip whenever she's turned on, and again, James insisted that it be retained in the movie, much to Dakota Johnson's misfortune. While it seemed like something playful and disposable when it was plastered over posters for the film, in the final product itself it's actually rather grating and irritating, because it's a lazy visual signpost to indicate whenever Ana is aroused. Frankly, even people who bite their lip when they're horny in real life don't do it this often, and it becomes a cringe-worthy running joke throughout the film, one that even Grey himself picks up on. Even if the dialogue doesn't do it, body language is usually enough to make it clear that things are getting hot and heavy, so does it really need to be so heavy-handed and obvious? Well, it's Fifty Shades of Grey, so the answer is yes...
