With Magic Mike XXL dropping his character, Alex Pettyfer has got a stripping hole in his schedule, and he's actually already played Christian Grey before... Pros He's clearly not got a problem with taking his clothes off, if Magic Mike is anything to go by, and when Gus Van Sant was making his bid to direct the original film he shot a sex scene as a showreel that featured Pettyfer as Grey. That endorsement has got to count for something - especially since Van Sant might well find himself back in contention to direct the sequel. Cons Unfortunately, the producers clearly weren't impressed by that showreel enough to cast Pettyfer off the back of it, and he may actually prefer to steer away from raunchier roles with Magic Mike already under his belt.
