Fifty Shades Of Grey Sequels: 12 Actors Who Should Replace Jamie Dornan

1. Someone Entirely Unknown

Who says it has to be a big name, or even a recognisable one at all? Universal could score a win by casting a completely unknown fresh out of film school or a run-way. Pros The big one if no baggage. Obviously Dornan wasn't exactly a household name when he was cast, and it allowed him to mould a vision of Grey that didn't have many of his past roles to contend with. The issue for Universal now is that anyone who is cast will be compared with Jamie Dornan, and if they already have previous, much of the speculation that comes after the announcement of his casting will likely focus on what clues there might be for his performance in other roles. Clearly, that wouldn't be beneficial. Cons Universal might well need to attach some prestige to the casting: the last thing they want in light of Dornan's jumping ship and the accusations that EL James is a nightmare to work with, is any hint that they couldn't convince even a B-list name to take the role on. And casting unknowns means precisely that: they're an unknown quantity, and while it might not matter for Fifty Shades Darker (since it will sell on its own), there's a third film that simply won't survive a mishit.
