It can be briefly glimsped in the "HANDS!" sequence, but is best seen in the post-title scene that Dory isn't just in the aquarium by accident, but she's been captured and tagged - clearly her mission/misadventures (depending on plot) hasn't exactly gone well (not that she seems aware of it). The original plan for the movie was to featured a SeaWorld-esque finale, something that was changed following the industry-altering Blackfish, but the notion of being captured by humans and having to stage an escape seems to have remained.
