First Avengers 4 Synopsis Promises Sacrifices MUST Be Made
Well, that sounds grim...
Now that we all know the end of Avengers: Infinity War, it's fairly clear what the general shape of Avengers 4 is going to be. Very broadly speaking, it will deal with the fallout of Thanos' snap and we'll see it somehow undone so that the heroes who were clicked out of existence will return.
That obviously isn't to say that it'll be a dramatic reset and it'll all end happily, of course, because the writers have made it very clear that the stakes are real. Plus, the context of the movie suggests that it will still be the end for some of the series' biggest characters. And that feeling seems to have been corroborated by the first synopsis for the movie that appears to have been revealed by Licensing Magazine (via CBM editor Rochi Shion).
Here's what that magazine is carrying:
"A culmination of 22 interconnected films, the fourth installment of the Avengers saga will draw audiences to witness the turning point of this epic journey. Our beloved heroes will truly understand how fragile this reality is and the sacrifices that must be made to uphold it."
Now, that is surely a temporary synopsis (it's what studios tend to do), but even then it's intriguing to note that last part. "Sacrifices must be made." Does that suggest that the theory that the survivors (or some of them) will give up their lives to bring the others back rings true? Will we see Captain America and Iron Man FINALLY getting their chance of the heroic sacrifice they seem so intent on making?
The mention of a fragile reality also further hints that what Thanos did isn't necessarily set in stone, which will give the Avengers and Guardians the hope they need to try and overturn the snap. It's not surprising, by any means, but it's nice to have it written down. Even temporarily.
