First Look: Anthony Hopkins as Alfred Hitchcock

"Good Evening" - see the first look at The Master of Suspense in Sacha Gervasi's upcoming biopic Hitchcock.

Fox Searchlight Pictures has debuted the very first look at Anthony Hopkins as the legendary Alfred Hitchcock in Sacha Gervasi's (Anvil! The Story of Anvil) upcoming biopic. Now we know what Hopkins looks like in Hitch make-up, you can almost hear his voice in your head delivering The Master of Suspense's immortal dry line, "Good Evening". Not that I think Hopkins looks much like Hitchcock mind you. Then again he didn't look a great deal like Richard Nixon either in Oliver Stone's mid 90's movie but he delivered a compelling and fiery performance that sure felt like Nixon. Filming began this week on the movie which is now simply going by the title 'Hitchcock' and no longer 'Alfred Hitchcock and the Making of Psycho', the name of the Stephen Rebello book upon which it is based. A wise choice, I'd say. The film revolves around Hitchcock's mindset during the making of his seminal horror movie 'Psycho' and just like last year's successful 'My Week With Marilyn' is a behind-the-curtain look at Hollywood's biggest stars. Hopkins co-stars with Helen Mirren, Scarlett Johansson, James D'Arcy, Jessica Biel, Michael Stuhlbarg, Toni Collette, Michael Wincott, Kurtwood Smith, Richard Portnow, Danny Huston and Ralph Macchio. Find out who they are all playing and more details about the movie in our previous updates.
