First Spider-Man: Far From Home Reactions Claim Film Has "SHOCKING" Ending
Not long to wait now...
Spider-Man: Far From Home is a little over a week away from its release, and press screenings have just begun. Embargos for full reviews won't lift for another few days, but initial reactions have made their way onto social media and, surprise surprise, praise is unanimous. One or two surprising comments also feature, making the next Spidey film all the more enticing.
The sequel to Spider-Man: Homecoming was always going to be something of an unknown quantity, but fans maybe didn't expect it to be as pivotal as it's likely to end up being. It's the first MCU film to release after Endgame, and the last for Phase Three. Spidey's no stranger to responsibility of course, but with talk of the multiverse, a dead mentor to honour and interest from Nick Fury, it's clear Peter Parker will be juggling a lot both on and off the screen next month.
But now for the critics. Praise is pretty emphatic, with some even noting their surprise at just how well it handles the post-Endgame world established just the other month. Perhaps unsurprisingly, Tom Holland, Zendaya and Jake Gyllenhaal are all singled out as highlights, but it appears as though the film might just be as mind-blowing as the most recent Avengers sequel too.
Obviously the fact the film seems to have nailed all the emotional beats of Peter's character arc is amazing in and of itself, as well as the fact it seems to have embraced the zany nature of Mysterio's source material, but it's still surprising to hear that Far From Home packs some "shocking" and generally just jaw-dropping revelations too.
How it manages to do both that and serve as a nice pallet-cleanser after Endgame is anyone's guess, but the fact it's seemingly managed to execute both elements with such tact is especially exciting.
