20th Century Fox have released a five second (!) teaser clip of what the title characters from
Rise of the Planet of the Apes (August) will look like, before they release a full length trailer on Friday. A behind the scenes look is coming on Wednesday. I like it, in fact I'm kinda floored by it. The WETA boys (and presumably
Andy Serkis?) might well have outdone themselves here, the simian looks scarily lifelike... a very eye-brow raising mix of Tim Burton's monkeys from a decade ago and the iconic, signature look of the apes from the original franchise. But Of course, the eyes are the real selling point. That's the make or break for the apes and on this five second tease alone they have passed the test. All too brief look but I'm impressed... and perhaps my anger of the digital apes is waning?
