Flashpoint: 9 Things It Means For The DC Extended Universe
5. A Potential Launchpad For Booster Gold
We mentioned earlier that Flash is the only one with pre-Flashpoint awareness. Well, admittedly, that isn't strictly true because the time-hopping hero Booster Gold featured in a tie-in mini-series with his memories intact.
Playing out in Booster Gold #44-47, the story took place within Flashpoint continuity but essentially stood alone, pitting the title character against the formidable Superman and Justice League foe Doomsday.
While this segue from the main story is unlikely to make it into the film, The Flash's solo outing could be the perfect launch vehicle for the mooted Booster Gold movie.
Screenwriter Zack Stentz is believed to have begun scripting the project and early reports suggest that it will not be a part of the DC Extended Universe.
Perhaps the Booster Gold film will be a standalone offering within the Flashpoint timeline? The rest of the DCEU could move on after the main event, but this doesn't necessarily have to affect Booster. That's the convenience of time travel capabilities.
And having Doomsday in Booster Gold is unlikely to do the movie any harm, although we can't say it will be the same for its protagonist.
