Flashpoint: 9 Things It Means For The DC Extended Universe
6. Enter The Reverse-Flash
Flashpoint could have major ramifications for the DC movie universe going forward, but in the short term it will give us a new villain in the shape of Reverse-Flash.
The anti-Barry Allen, who is powered by the Negative Speed Force, was initially the chief suspect for story's timeline tampering but the final explanation wasn't that simple.
Also known as Eobard Thawne, the villain has appeared in The CW's Flash TV show played by Matt Letscher and has established himself as one of the Scarlet Speedster's greatest foes across multiple mediums over the years.
Although he wasn't directly responsible for Flashpoint's twisted reality, he's a key character throughout the story and an essential inclusion in the film.
As for who should play him in the DCEU, we'd like to see Game of Thrones' Iwan Rheon in the role, but his Inhumans contract over at Marvel Studios probably forbids him from crossing the great divide, unfortunately.
