Flashpoint On Its Way To DC Universe Animation Line?
Is the DC Reboot event about to find its way into the DC animation line?
We know the next DC Universe Animated title is going to be Superman Vs. The Elite based on Joe Kelly's "What's So Funny About Truth, Justice and the American Way?" but judging by Kevin Conroy's little reveal (around about the 05:20 mark of the video below) we have a Flashpoint animated feature on the cards as well.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8DBgITN9so8 Flashpoint, for those that don't know was big event that had The Flash noticing the unexplainable changes going on in and around the DC Universe which led up to the big DC 52 reboot universe that we currently reside in. So what does this mean for the future of DC's animation line. Are you only going to be seeing post DC 52 stories from here on in? Does that mean no Killing Joke adaptation? What does this mean for the status of the much rumoured Dark Knight Returns animated feature? Do we have to put up with the rebooted Justice League in animated form sometime soon and get the underwhelming new Superman tales adapted for DVD and Blu-ray? Will the Court of Owls get animated someday? I guess this was an inevitable move at some point but I have to say I didn't expect the animation line to fall in line quite so soon. The DC Animated titles tend to tie in with their movie releases, so Id expect a Batman title to link up with Dark Knight Rises before Flashpoint comes along and possible even another title depending on how far along the Flashpoint animation is but I guess we'll have to wait and see because at this point the Flashpoint news isn't officially revealed (even though the attached video makes it pretty likely).
