7. Drowning In Garbage
In Jason Takes Manhatten, Charles is introduced as a pretty loathable individual. Pig-headed and selfish, every slasher needs that character audiences are just waiting to see get their comeuppance, and he fits this role perfectly. Charles is also shown to be an abusive uncle to Rennie, throwing her into Crystal Lake in an effort to teach her how to swim. It is only fitting therefore that his death sees him getting a taste of his own medicine.
After encountering Jason, Charles flees into an old building, which he is subsequently thrown out of. Landing back in the street, Charles is then picked up by Jason and dangled in front of a dirty-looking barrel filled with toxic sludge. Kane Hodder then dunks the man in the barrel headfirst up to his waist.
The sequence actually goes on for some time, and would honestly be one of the most horrifying deaths in the movie if it weren't for the fact there is literally toxic sludge being used to kill people in a slasher movie. Charles' death blurs between genuine horror and wackiness in a way only Friday the 13th can serve up, but it can't be denied that seeing such a loathsome character get his just desserts is satisfying to see.
