Gemini Man Review: 4 Ups & 6 Downs

4. Benedict Wong Is Totally Wasted

Gemini Man Will Smith Benedict Wong
Paramount Pictures

Benedict Wong plays the main supporting character in the movie, Baron, Henry Brogan's (Smith) former colleague who is drafted in to help bring down Brogan's younger clone.

And though Wong does about as well with the material as can be expected, he's basically relegated to cringe-worthy, corny comic relief for the most part.

Given the dramatic range Wong has demonstrated over his many years as an actor, it's a shame to see him used so cynically here, clearly hoping to coast on his visibility in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Though he gets a decent amount of screen time throughout the film, precious little of it is actually memorable, and the ultimate arc his character takes is...not good.
