Geostorm Review: 2 Ups & 8 Downs

1. Zazie Beetz's Entertaining Performance

Geostorm Zazie Beetz
Warner Bros.

Though most of the actors barely make it out of the film in one piece, there is one performance in the film that actually strikes a genuinely solid note.

Zazie Beetz has a small supporting role as Dana, a computer hacker who helps Jim Sturgess' Max try to stop the Geostorm from happening.

She's not in the film a ton, but she actually makes her sassy one-liners work surprisingly well, and presents by far the movie's best-executed comic relief.

Beetz, who was most likely added to the film during reshoots, will next be playing Domino in Deadpool 2, and off the basis of her work here, she'll be able to effortlessly hold her own opposite Ryan Reynolds.
