Geostorm Review: 2 Ups & 8 Downs

2. The Reshoots Are Hilariously Obvious

Geostorm began shooting three years ago almost to the day, but after poor test screenings a year later, $15 million reshoots took place last December with director Danny Cannon.

It's known that the reshoots added more characters to the film, but it's also widely suspected that these touch-ups added more quips and general humour, to soften the edges and make it more broadly appealing.

Unfortunately the reshoots are oddly noticeable at times, with characters' hair looking markedly different in subsequent scenes, and some of the dialogue feeling a little out of place with what came before.

Yes, there's nothing as bad as Kate Mara's wig in Fantastic Four, the gold standard of awful reshoot continuity, but it's still pretty bad.
