1. The Ending Is Changed For The Worse

Unsurprisingly (but disappointingly all the same), the movie's ending has been changed from the original in order to open up that ever-important Hollywood franchise potential.

The finale stops short of the destruction in the anime, instead allowing the movie to serve as a superhero origin story of sorts, as opposed to the original functioning much more convincingly as a standalone movie in its own right.

It's understandable, considering Scarlett Johansson's popularity and all, but it also means that the emotion of the original film's ending isn't quite there, even if there is a fairly noble attempt to replace it with a different kind of cathartic climax.
