4. WHY Was The Dance Sequence Cut?
When Kevin is possessed and takes on an entire army of policemen and soldiers, he sets up a hilarious looking dance routine by getting all of his victims to pose like John Travolta in Saturday Night Fever. You get the immediate sense that they're going to do something on a grand scale to pay off the possession gag.
And then nothing. No dance number. No pay off. It just sort of moves on to the next scene.
But then when the credits role, it turns out they actually did film the Thriller-like dance sequence, and it looks great. So why did they cut it and play it out behind the credits as an afterthought? Why not have faith in your own comic set piece when its absence is felt so tangibly where it was supposed to be?
