Ghostbusters: 21 WTF Moments In The Female Remake
20. Using The Real Theme First
You'd have thought that the fact that Sony commissioned and released a new theme song by emo pop rock wonders Fallout Boy would mean that they'd go heavy on its use in the film. It was a replacement song after all, so we should forget about the Ray Parker Jr classic and accept this as a reflection of the reboot's newness, right?
Wrong.
After the film's opening sequence at the mansion, we're immediately treated to the original theme tune. So why not just use it again for the film's promotion? The film-makers obviously had enough faith in it, and saw the value in using it for fan-service within the film. The idea that they'd then also commission the two abysmal new Ghostbusters tunes that come midway through and over the credits is just inconceivable.
