Ghostbusters: 21 WTF Moments In The Female Remake
14. The Cameos Are Awful
Am I the only person in the whole Ghostbusters audience who didn't think the original cast cameos were any good (aside from Sigourney Weaver's at the very end, of course, which was actually pretty funny)?
They were no more than distracting reminders of what we could have had (a film where they pass the torch, as I've said), with VERY limited impact. Murray's cameo is mean-spirited and he's killed off, Aykroyd's is (somewhat typically) badly acted, Ernie Hudson's is as iffy as his on-screen niece's entire backstory and Janine's appearance adds nothing.
They're strange living artefacts that the film is apparently trying its damnedest to ignore the existence of while simultaneously rolling them out for cheap fan service. It's just weird and uncomfortable.
