Ghostbusters 3: 10 Suggestions to Make It Not Suck

2. Don€™t Try To Please Too Many People

Sequels are traditionally quite dangerous territory, especially so with such a huge gap between #II and #III. After all, you€™ve got your returning fans to please as well as entirely new generation of cinema goers who haven€™t necessarily grown up with the original franchise and don€™t necessarily give a s**t. Let me say one thing right now. There are enough surviving fans of the original Ghosbusters movies to argue that should they focus entirely on pleasing us, they€™ll have a hit on their hands. How they€™ll fail is by trying to please everyone; by including just enough to appease the returning fan base, just enough to satisfy their new, younger audience and just enough to silence their investors. Should they do it this way, they€™ll inadvertently end up offering not quite enough for anybody. You€™ve heard the term €˜jack of all trades, master of none€™ right? The very same principal applies here.
