5. Erin Gilbert (Kristen Wiig)
If Ghostbusters has a clear protagonist, it's undeniably Kristen Wiig's Erin, a career-driven academic who joins the team when her belief in ghosts results in the loss of her job.
Though it's not Wiig's strongest work, she's still a likeable and entertaining presence as per usual, representing the core of the film and having some hilarious exchanges with Chris Hemsworth's hunk Kevin in particular.
She doesn't do a whole lot when it comes to the movie's action sequences, but she helps balance out the team's more boisterous members with her more down-to-Earth persona. She's no Peter Venkman, but that doesn't stop her being a solid character in her own right.
