Ghostbusters: Ranking Every Character From Worst To Best

18. Martin Heiss (Bill Murray)

Ghostbusters Abduction
Columbia Pictures

Bill Murray makes his much-discussed cameo in the movie playing a paranormal skeptic who is briefly seen dismissing ghosts as hogwash on TV before meeting the Ghostbusters in person.

After a surprisingly dull chat, he gets attacked by a ghost and thrown out of a window to his vaguely comical demise. They really missed a trick by not having Murray return as a ghost for even a few seconds, but perhaps that was by his request given how protective he is of the franchise.

Considering how hilarioius Murray can be, this of all the legacy cameos just fell pretty flat and was arguably one of the weakest, most unnecessary scenes in the entire movie. Fan service gone wrong, basically.

Stay at home dad who spends as much time teaching his kids the merits of Martin Scorsese as possible (against the missus' wishes). General video game, TV and film nut. Occasional sports fan. Full time loon.
