Ghostbusters: Ranking Every Character From Worst To Best

11. Uncle Bill (Ernie Hudson)

Patty's (Leslie Jones) uncle Bill is mentioned several times throughout the film as owning the funeral parlour from where she manages to acquire the iconic hearse that the Ghostbusters drive around.

After the Ghostbusters lose the hearse into another dimension in the movie's climax, uncle Bill drives another up to their firehouse and exchanges a few words with his niece, expressing horror at being down a hearse, given how many funerals he's got lined up. He ends the movie on the line "I'm not stackin' 'em like flapjacks!", and is easily the most successful of all the series cameos in the movie.

For one, Ernie Hudson still looks fantastic at the age of 70, and his charming presence meshes well with Leslie Jones' more boisterous personality. Again, it wouldn't be such a bad thing if he reprised this part for a brief minute in the next movie.
