Dr Raymond Stantz - Seth Rogen
OK, so Stantz is certainly less of an extrovert than most of Rogens characters, but if he managed to tone himself down just a notch and soften his edges a little then he could be a massive asset to a Ghostbusters remake. There was talk a while back of Rogen joining the cast of the 3rd movie as a new character but in a world where reboots, re-imaginings and remakes are the norm, Seth Rogen is a must have. He is also a massive nerd, not unlike Dan Aykroyd, and brings a certain geeky sex appeal to the movie. At least thats what the ladies tell us anyway. And he's funny and Ghostbusters is as much a comedy as it is sci-fi.
Dr Egon Spengler - Jim Parsons
This might be a bit of a stretch but The Big Bang Theory star would be our first choice to play bespectacled mega geek Egon Spengler. Like his eccentric but lovable character Sheldon in Big Bang Theory, Egon is an elitist geek with zero social skills and vastly superior scientific knowledge. What better person to take on the role then than the excellent Jim Parsons? Hes the kind of guy you can imagine trying to drill a hole in his head to win an argument and masterminding the particle accelerator system that came to be known as a Proton Pack.
