Ghostbusters Review: 6 Ups And 4 Downs

2. Chris Hemsworth Is F*cking Hilarious

OK, so Ghostbusters is quite funny, but Chris Hemsworth is something else as the gang’s dim-witted receptionist. Every single joke the film makes with him lands. Christopher's never really justified his position as the biggest Hemsworth - every role feels like a generic action hunk or a riff on Thor - but this one reveals his comedic skill.

It's also one of the film's best examples of character development. There’s something really endearing about Kevin, so while you’re laughing at him in a way, over the film (like the gang) you begin to really care for him. An expanded role in a sequel beckons.

He’s like Jason Statham in Spy – someone you didn’t realise could do comedy and in the trailers looked to be playing it too broad, yet in the movie is so consistent you get excited just seeing him in a scene.
