Glass: 16 WTF Moments
2. David Drowns...In A Puddle!?
Nothing in this movie was more baffling or frustrating than the decision to kill David Dunn off in such hilariously unceremonious fashion. He's just grabbed by a random, faceless soldier and dunked in a shallow puddle, shortly after which he dies. That's it.
Obviously Shyamalan did this to make an intentional point about the extent of David's weakness around water and deconstructing the typicality of heroes making epic, sacrificial deaths, but even so, it was so damn unsatisfying.
At least if David has drowned inside the water tank it would've looked a little more cinematic, but a puddle? It's almost like Shyamalan was going out of his way to piss off the audience here.
Considering there could've been so many more stories featuring David, this again felt like a huge waste of a character the audience was hugely invested in.
