Oh, that guy millions of people bought a ticket to see, and the one who is a multi-award winning actor, director and producer; the performance of which single-handedly made an otherwise token monster movie appealing - without the monster? Yeah, he dies after only a handful of scenes, before even getting to see Godzilla. Yes, Cranston meets his maker at the claws of one of the enemy Mutos just as soon as it comes back to life and goes all bull-china-shop at a testing facility, providing one of the biggest bait 'n switches in modern memory, as it's pretty much a guarantee that Aaron Taylor-Johnson's upcoming performance was not the reason people were putting their cash down to see the film. Instead we wanted to see Brian 'Breaking Bad' Cranston get suitably annoyed and distraught over The Man telling him his presence was not wanted, or his research unusable - or, anything really, it's Brian Cranston. Alas, in another extremely ballsy move on Gareth Edwards' part we cut to the body-bag being zipped up, not moments after he had just given one of his most intense performances; distraught at being locked in a room and being questioned when all he wanted was answers to his wife's death.
