Warner Bros. sure has had a busy Comic-Con, right? Before they dropped trailers for Shazam! and Aquaman, they also released a trailer for the long-awaited sequel to 2014's Godzilla reboot, Godzilla: King of the Monsters.

With Trick 'r Treat and Krampus writer-director Michael Dougherty leading the charge, there was a lot of pre-release curiosity about how an inexperienced blockbuster director would handle such a huge project, but this first trailer seems to indicate he's doing just fine.

It sure helps that he's joined by an absolutely fantastic cast, and though the visual effects will certainly need to be tuned up before the movie's release, the fact it's not out for another 10 months at least gives Warner Bros. a ton of time to do that.

If you're going into King of the Monsters hoping to see giant creatures smacking each other around, it's probably going to deliver the goods. Just don't expect too much in terms of strong characterisation or nuanced dialogue...
