The trailer begins in suitably ominous fashion, with a portentous voiceover from Vera Farmiga's Dr. Emma Russell, who tells us, "Our world is changing. The mass extinction we feared has already begun, and we are the cause. We are the infection."

This is played over footage of Russell's daughter Madison (Millie Bobby Brown), who is standing on the rooftop of a building as a storm of biblical proportions appears to break out, prompting her to quickly run inside.

Quite what the direct cause of this particular event is remains unknown, but it sure ain't looking good for humanity.
