Godzilla: King Of The Monsters - What Does The Ending Really Mean?

1. King Ghidorah Will Reign Again

Godzilla Ghidorah

After he merged with Mothra's essence, Godzilla returned far more powerful than ever and managed to disintegrate Ghidorah in mere seconds, meaning that in spite of the dragon's regeneration abilities, it wouldn't be making any comebacks - the reason being that there simply wasn't anything left to start the regeneration process. However, the post-credits scene revealed that this wasn't entirely true.

As the villainous Colonel Alan Jonah (Charles Dance) resurfaced in Isla De Mara, he was met by a group of fishermen - who unveiled one of Ghidorah's severed heads. Naturally, this was a commodity that Jonah that gleefully agreed to purchase.

The head in question is obviously the one that was severed by Godzilla during their battle on the island (before the pair of them were blasted by the army's Oxygen Destroyer), which Ghidorah subsequently grew back in a bid to showcase his frightening abilities for the first time.

Now that we know one of his heads is still intact, will Jonah be able to figure out a way to encourage it to regenerate a full body? Moreover, could we see a revived Ghidorah make an appearance in Godzilla vs. Kong? Whatever happens, you can rest assured knowing that we probably haven't seen the last of the three-headed dragon after all.

Mecha-King Ghidorah, anyone?
