Golden Globes 2018: 7 Ups & 5 Downs
4. Kirk Douglas Appears On Stage
One of the show's more depressing moments saw 101-year-old Kirk Douglas wheeled on stage by his daughter-in-law, Catherine Zeta-Jones, following a video tribute to the acting legend.
Though the video was a neat tribute and it's incredible that Douglas is still around, he was clearly in no physical condition to be on stage, his inability to speak making the distended segment an awkward downer to sit through.
There's no doubting the man's status in the industry, but he had no place actually appearing on this show, and considering the decades-old sexual allegations that have persisted against him, it seemed even more inappropriate to have him appear on this year's show, be he innocent or not.
