Golden Globes 2019: 8 Ups & 7 Downs
5. Keri Russell & Amy Adams Go Home Empty Handed
Not everybody can be a winner, of course, but it was especially disappointing to see these two much-respected actresses go home empty-handed in their respective categories.
The Americans' Keri Russell once again failed to win the Best Actress award, meaning that she inexplicably went the series' entire run without winning a single Emmy or Golden Globe for her superb performance.
And though Amy Adams does at least have two Golden Globes to her name already, it was still a shame to see her left a double-loser as she lost out on Best Supporting Actress (Film) for Vice, and also Best Actress (Miniseries or TV Film) for her stonking turn in Sharp Objects.
That's not to throw shade at the actors who bested them because they were certainly fine picks, but these two really seemed due some awards gold.
Though the Globes aren't a particularly consistent predictor for the Oscars, this is definitely a speed bump for Adams' momentum (where she'll likely scoop her sixth nomination...and lose yet again).
