Golden Globes 2021: The Snubs And Surprises

3. Snub: What We Do In The Shadows - Best Comedy Series, Best Comedy Actor

After surprising at the Emmys with three writing nominations last September and dominating at this year's Critics Choice Awards, What We Do in the Shadows was ignored by the HFPA in every category. The spin-off of Taika Waititi and Jemaine Clement's popular comedy, the show is incredibly funny and more than lives up to the film it was based on.

Set in a house share between four vampires, the show is designed as a mockumentary as we go in and out of the vampires' lives who are just trying to understand how the modern world works.

With an incredible cast that frankly could have rightfully garnered three or four nominations, it was Matt Berry who felt closest to achieving his maiden nod but was overlooked entirely. As other awards shows begin to notice What We Do in the Shadows, it is clear that the Hollywood Foreign Press Association is just late to the party and will eventually begin to recognise this show for how great it is.
