In an interview at Comic-Con, Letterman explained that actually, working on a tight budget almost forced the film makers to choose a certain subject of monsters that are memorable while still affordable to create for the film.Don't worry though, you'll still be able to count a minimum of 30 monsters during the movie. He said not all of Stine's original written creations are easy to pull off cinematically, and so the choice of the monsters was narrowed down due to that as well. Letterman also explained that having a lot of monsters made the film-making hard to manage: "We had an amazing team of artists, because the monsters are being done with basically every feasible way to put monsters on the screen" Audiences can expect VFX, a hybrid of full creature suits combined with VFX, pure practical makeup, classic old school monster effects, and costumes.
