The phrase 'Green Lantern reboot' suggests another shoddy superhero flick, but the log-line "Lethal Weapon in space" encourages its reader to imagine a buddy cop action comedy set against a galactic backdrop - something that viewers would flock towards.
Maybe Hal Jordan will be the older, grumpy hero (like Danny Glover's Murtaugh) and John Stewart will be the younger, cockier recruit he has to put up with (like Mel Gibson's Riggs). If they cast a bonafide star such as Tom Cruise or Bradley Cooper as Hal, and someone young and funny like Donald Glover as John, DC could be onto something really big here.
