5. ... But There Will Still Be Some Origin Stuff
Despite the apparent sure-thing of a prior Green Lantern appearance in the DCEU, it still seems like world-building and character introductions will play a part in Green Lantern Corps. When Deadline Hollywood broke the news of Goyer and Rhodes' involvement, their report told fans the film is "based on a comic book origin story".
How will that work? Another snippet from Deadline's article could hold the answer. As they reported, "The focus will be on two characters: Hal Jordan and John Stewart." A theory among fans is that test pilot Hal Jordan will already be an established Lantern when Green Lantern Corps kicks off (allowing him to cameo in Justice League 2 beforehand), but architect/marine John Stewart will be a newbie who only joins the Corps during this film.
This would give both sets of fans a cypher: those who already know the mythos are represented by Hal, and those who still need to learn about it can follow John's journey of discovery. Clever.
