Green Lantern Corps Movie: Everything You Need To Know

The Green Lantern canon has some of the best villains in DC comics history, which should save the DCEU from running out of evildoers any time soon. The ancient entity Parallax appeared in the previous movie, but was turned into a creepy cloud instead of an interstellar dragon thingy - a better, scarier version of the character could be great.

Then there's Sinestro, Hal's mentor who turns against him and forms his own fear-feeding corps. He was played by Mark Strong before, and could come back recast and reinvigorated.

There's also Atrocitus, a monstrous Red Lantern who enacts a bloody revenge rampage against the Green Lanterns after they fail to save his family from death. And speaking of death, the aforementioned Black Lanterns are begging for the movie treatment - dark, zombie-esque villains could liven things up significantly a little ways down the road.

Indeed, if Green Lantern Corps is successful, it could lead to sequels, spinoffs and tie-ins with the Justice League. Over time, all these frightful villains could have their shot on the big screen. If DC can manage to convince cinema-goers that the Green Lantern property isn't as naff as its previous film adaptation, they could be stripping this goldmine of cinematic treats for years to come. Major Hollywood talent and a Lethal Weapon vibe sounds like a strong place to start...
