Greyhound Review: 6 Ups & 3 Downs
3. The Solid Ensemble Cast
Beyond the aforementioned turn from Tom Hanks, Greyhound benefits from the efforts of a strong ensemble, whose faces you'll likely recognise even if you can't quite recall their names.
Though, again, character development is in disappointingly short supply, the cast does all they can to inject some pathos into these men.
Most prominently, the terrific Stephen Graham turns in another strong performance as Krause's second-in-command Cole, sharing a number of tense exchanges with Hanks and making the absolute best of it.
Elsewhere, on-the-rise actor Karl Glusman (Devs) is solid in a supporting role as officer Eppstein, and Rob Morgan (Daredevil) is a low-key standout as the ship's kindly chef, Cleveland.
Though these characters aren't vital pieces of the puzzle, they do nevertheless ensure that humanity manages to seep into the movie's pores, offering up a fleet of men who aren't mere props to be blown up and tossed around
