Greyhound Review: 6 Ups & 3 Downs
2. It's Superbly Paced
While it's absolutely fair to say that Greyhound's brief runtime means it doesn't have much time to explore the wider context of the battle or its characters, it does result in an agreeably to-the-point war movie.
It's tough to imagine anyone getting bored with the film given how it never spends too much time in one spot, as Krause and his men are constantly on the back-foot trying to free themselves from one tricky assault after another.
It is balanced exceptionally well between frantic action and calmer downtime, though, ensuring you'll neither be left exhausted nor impatient by film's end.
Some might understandably see it as too hurried for its own good, but it's also refreshing to see a war film ditch the hokey melodrama and just get straight to business.
