James Gunn's Guardians of the Galaxy assembled an impressive cast that intrigued fans and movie-goers. However, a select group of fans of the Whedonverse and James Gunn were hoping to see a particular name counted among the GotG cast; that name is of course Nathan Fillion. Fillion has his fill of geek-cred and a long connection with both James Gunn and Joss Whedon, two big names from the rest of Marvel's Phase Two. Unfortunately, Fillion apparently didn't get the call to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but he recently revealed a very interesting tidbit at this year's St. Louis Comic-Con. When asked about the film Fillion stated that fans should maybe watch the credits, and Gunn fanned the speculation flames by saying someone had been letting cats out of bags. Assuming that this isn't a fake out by Fillion and Gunn, and we will be seeing the captain of the Serenity in the MCU, just who could he be playing? Most after-credits scenes in the Marvel films are tasked with setting up big moments from future films, which leads us to believe that Fillion might have actually landed a far bigger role which will potentially be revealed in Guardians of the Galaxy. Today we are going to look at some possible roles Nathan Fillion might be playing in the MCU, and we will be trying to keep it on the cosmic side of the Marvel Universe, assuming Marvel will be trying to expand the Guardians particular area in a similar way to the Avengers.
