Guardians Of The Galaxy: 10 Potential Roles For Nathan Fillion

1. Captain Marvel

We've heard recent rumors that the current Captain Marvel, Carol Danvers (formerly Ms. Marvel), might be making an appearance in Avengers: Age of Ultron. Whether or not this is true, Danvers will be showing up in the MCU at some point, and before that happens, there's someone else we'd like to see first. There have been a few Captain Marvel's over the years, but only one Captain Mar-Vell. Mar-Vell was a Kree alien sent to spy on Earth, who eventually became a hero and rejected his homeworld. Eventually Mar-Vell was given extra power by the Nega-Bands (which were later used by Quasar) and assisted the Avengers against numerous threats, including the Kree/Skrull War. His legacy would inspire Danvers (and others) to carry the Marvel name after Mar-Vell's death of cancer. Captain Marvel's role in the MCU is questionable, but almost necessary to truly deliver the best version of Carol Danvers to the MCU. With such a well-known and believable actor in the role, Captain Marvel's potentially brief time on-screen would have the necessary impact with Fillion as the Kree hero, which would tie into numerous threads of the MCU. This would enable the rise of one of the most popular heroes in the Marvel universe, Carol Danvers AKA Captain Marvel. And Fillion's certainly no stranger to the short-but-sweet roles that are impossible to forget, making his possible turn as Captain Marvel another memorable character for us to love. Which of these roles do you think suits Nathan Fillion? Could his and James Gunn's statements be a total fake-out, or will you be keeping a close watch on the end credits for a glimpse of Captain Mal? Let us know in the comments section below!
