Guardians Of The Galaxy 2 - 10 Things We Want To See
10. More Cosmo!
Going into this film, we heard that Cosmo the telekinetic Russian space dog would make an appearance, with many speculating that he could even be voiced by Nathan Fillion. However, that was obviously not the case, as Fillion's cameo ended up being nothing more than some thug in the Kyln, while Cosmo's role was substantially downgraded. He doesappear in the movie, but it's more of an Easter egg and a nod to diehard Guardians fans than anything else. However, there's material there that could definitely be explored in a sequel, and now that we know audiences are willing to accept talking, sentient animals on screen, Cosmo's inclusion isn't too far fetched. Cosmo appeared in the Collector's museum, and was seen to have survived the Infinity Gem explosion in the film's post-credits sequence. Originally descended from Earth (or, as the rest of the galaxy calls it, Terra), Cosmo is a dog that hails from the Russian space program. In the comics, he's the security chief at the Guardians HQ on Knowhere and even aids the team in battle and on missions from time to time. He's got a great relationship with Rocket that could be explored, and sharing a home planet with Star-Lord might give the two a chance to bond.
