15. Cosmo The Space Dog

The third and final sight for sore eyes amongst The Collector's menagerie goes to Cosmo The Space Dog, another established Marvel comics character and one who belongs in an even more obscure pile than the main cast of the Guardians Of The Galaxy, who weren't exactly familiar to most when this film was announced. Cosmo, like real life fore-runner Laika, was a former involuntary member of the Soviet space program; unlike Laika, however, he went on to become super smart and head up security operations on Knowhere. Knowhere is another presence from the comics - a spacestation where The Collector is based in this film, which means that when Cosmo escapes his glass prison following an explosion caused by the Infinity Gem you can see him running off and enjoying his freedom, possibly by taking that very role on board the disembodied floating head of a space god. Which by the way is one of the principal locations for this move.
